Been wearing boots for a few years now, but really got the bug when I found a pair of vintage Chisholm cobra skins at a flea market. Discovering the whole universe of boots and bootmaking. Now waiting on what will be my 10th pair – Black Jack buffed Ring Lizards – a hefty investment for me but I know it’ll be worth it. With a predilection for lizard skins (cooler, lighter in summer) I have a question – are these lizards farm raised or harvested from the wild? If the latter, I’ll stop at 3 pairs of reptile skins.

The cowboy boots are awesome to wear and most of them wear it. It’s has its elegant style which suits everyone and on any dress. It has the perfect match with a good pair of jeans and a lovely shirt. We can also wear it on sundress which looks more stylish and very comfortable to wear. The Justine cowboy boots are really looks amazing and stylish to wear.

“One should be careful when choosing a bootmaker. Even a “”reputable”" bootmaker can make a boot that does not fit your foot. Pay close attention to what is explained to you about the way the fit is done. I had a pair made where an imprint was made in crushable foam and got a pair that did not fit over the top of my foot and slipped on my heel even after many hours of trying to break them in. After multiple trips to have the fit adjusted I still have a pair of expensive, to me, boots that sit in the closet unwearable. Does the old idea of filling them with water and wearing them until dry help get a better fitting boot?”

“I have a nice pair of Stuart-Romero boots, red in color, with multicolored stitching on the shafts and white inlay. I would guess they are late 1940s, though they are in great shape. They don’t fit me, but I’m happy to have them in my collection, until someone comes along who wants them more than I do. They are like the red S-R boots shown on the “”Man in the Crowd”" site that he lists for sale for $2500.”

I am the proud owner of 54 pair of boots. Till last year my favorite pair of boots were an awesome pair of Natural Americian Hornback Gators my folks had bought for graduation many moons ago, but then I found bar none the coolest collection of boots I have ever seen at a place called Stages West in Pigeon Forge TN. The pair I bought were made by Black Jack and were called the Houser II. They have a wild handtooled wrap that I haven’t seen anywhere else. This pair is not for every one but it is perfect for me.

My championship competitive chili and showmanship team is named Dead Boot Chili in honor of my worn out Frye boots way back in 1981. Lefty, the current Dead Boot is actually a Lucchese ostrich that went through a terrible car wreck in 1977. Although we have staged many funerals for the little fella, he still lingers this side of the trash pile. A coat of varnish a couple of years ago really spiffed him up too. He is well-traveled having attended cookoffs all over the Great State of Texas as our mascot. His coffin does double-duty as storage for spoons and tasting cups. Everybody has to pull their own weight. Naturally there is a website called Dead Boot Chili that goes into great detail the adventures of Lefty and the gang. Sure glad he’s still a part of my life.

“I just started wearing my 1st pair of genuine Cowboy boots, custom made by genioboots and everything about them is gorgeous: shiny black calfskin leather all around, seperate inlay in the vamp (very nice), knee-high 18″” tall shaft with stitching, sexy 2 1/2″” very underslung riding heels and pointy X-toes. The soles and heels are also black with white stitching. They fit perfectly but walking on these underslung heels took a little getting used to. I knew that when I ordered them but the fact that high heels look better is more important to me. The best thing about these boots is that with each step they remind me I’m wearing something really special and I just can’t stop looking at them. Over here in Europe you have to face ridicule for wearing these kind of boots but I just don’t care anymore. I’ve been denying myself this pleasure for more than 20 yrs. and it’s been enough. It’s amazing how these boots make me feel better about myself.”

What a boss site. Just reading your boot tales from down the years; good to see I’m not the only one who treats ‘em like pets. Got my first boots whilst still in school, fast-forward twenty years & my first CUSTOM pair is in the workshops at Caboots: Mink Teju with Chocolate tops, nice & simple and I can’t wait to see them. And all ordered from the comfort of my sofa on the other side of the atlantic; now that is technology AND tradition. Also just got a pair of 30 year old Justin’s; beautiful honey 1-piece lizard vamps, and unused; should I wear them or frame them? These are my favorites.till the new one’s land. We’re all a buncha show-offs!!

To the previous post talking about a Blake, are you refering to Blake Sladek owner of Beaver Creek Boot Shop in Stratford? I had Blake Sladek of Stratford, TX make my husband a pair of boots for Christmas. I ordered them as a gift and requested that the boots be of a brown twisted bullhide, and I wanted a fireman’s helmet inlayed in the tops. They were great! I could not believe that he made the boots by hand and the stitching was super. I would recommend anyone wanting a pair of handmade custom boots to contact Blake Sladek of Beaver Creek Boot and Saddle Shop a call. He is working on a website so check back to this site to see if it is up and going.

“There are three pairs of cowboy boots in my closet – cobra skin, lizard skin, and bovine skin (OK, “leather”). The Cobra and Lizard skin boots are hand-made by Siam Bootery in Bangkok, Thailand. I was there on vacation in 1993 and heard this was one-of-the-two places to go to if you wanted high-quality, hand-made leather goods. Both pairs still look and feel great today. The third pair of boots is the oldest. They were purchased shortly after I started college in 1980 from the local JC Penny. Not sure what brand they are – guess you would call them “”generic boots”" – but the aged, brown leather still looks very nice. And they still have the original rubber soles and heels. I wear all of my boots regularly. (Oh, and I have a pair of custom-fit, hand-made Dehner cavalry trooper boots, least I forget to mention them).”

I got lucky when using the “”Buy It Now”" on eBay – they couldn’t have been made better for me by a custom bootmaker! I have fat feet that make some boots hard to try on. The measurement from the heel to the top or front of the ankle is thick making that turn at the bottom of the boot difficult. Are there any brands that are roomier at that point than others? What might you suggest for a first pair of ropers?

I am a country singer (check me out on myspace) and I collect cowboy boots. I am a big woman and I wear men’s 9EE. A friend of mine has been hand painting my boots because men’s boots are usually so drab. I’m always looking for colorful, fun, and exotic boots that I can wear on the stage and look feminine in. Cowboy by trade. Bought my first pair of hand made boots from Paul Bond in early 70s. The LAST pair I ordered are shark skin,$850.00, 6 month delivery, didn’t fit. Called sent them back, waited 3 months, didn’t fit any better the 2nd time, supposed of made another pair. Very disapointed after the many pair of boots I have ordered from Paul Bond. I don’t think Mr Bond is actively involved in the boot making anymore.

“Hey I saw a pair of boots on a movie “”Romeo and Juliet”" with Leonardo DiCaprio. The guy wearing the boots was Tybalt “”the prince of cats”" and he had these black boots on with steel or metal heels. The heels were a bit higher than usual as well. but not feminine looking. They also had steel pointed tips. I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of boots these are, or if I’d just have to have them custom made.”

I bought my favorite pair from Council’s Bargain Corner in Lawrence, Kansas, for 2 bucks in 1985, and they looked to me like they belonged to a Texas Swing orchestra member from the 1930′s.extra tall, with a box toe, and green and red floral inlays. They were on their last legs, but when they were on mine, they made me walk with a confidence that took me everywhere, fearless. I don’t know where they are, now, they disappeared somewhere along the road, but I think of them often. Thanks, Jen, for your great site and all the work you’ve done.

Yeah! No other shoe fits, or feels, quite like a cowboy boot. And when it comes to pride of ownership, nothing quite compares to your first pair, in this fella’s case, Lucchese Classics in black caiman leather (caiman is a member of the crocodile family, from the Amazon basin in S. America). These awesome boots are hand made in El Paso, Texas, the boot capital of the world. Lemonwood-pegged, stacked leather heels, premium construction and totally handmade, the right way. With their high heels, pointed toes, mid-calf shafts, leather soles with lemonwood pegs and the ‘Lucchese Classics handmade’ proudly branded into the insides and soles of the shoes, you can almost taste their illustrious heritage. There’s definitely something about these boots that puts a swagger in your walk and manhood in your spine. Finally, a big thanks to you ma’am (June!) for all the great online information you’ve painstakingly put together, boot blog, guestbook, helpful hints, resource links et al. May you continue to celebrate the bootmaker’s art with the same undying passion. Will be dropping by here often, for sure.

“My favorite pair of boots is actually a pair of vintage ACME boots from the 70′s – caramel brown with white Daisy Flower onlays at the top with 3 inch heels. I LOVE them. They DO have a story! I sell boots on eBay (user id valuesavvy), and sometimes I’ll wear a pair before I sell them. Anyhoo, I sold a pair exactly like these & thought I could find them easily again. I could not. The next time I found them, they were attached to a table – with wooden legs submerged in cement that was all the way down to the toes. Well, I was DETERMINED to rescue these boots & put them on my feet! It took me a bottle of wine, a hammer & a screwdriver, and 2 hours to chisel out all the cement. Needless to say, I gave them a lot more character with the hammering. They are my favorite boots, even though they are not the best in quality. I get compliments and “”looks”" wherever I wear them! I just found this pair again, in size 7, and will be listing them tonight on eBay! They are really fun & comfortable boots that go with just about everything! Thanks for letting me share my story!”

My favorite pair, without a doubt, was my first pair. Justin “peanut brittle” iguanas with a “J” toe and a 1 and 5/8” Lucchese heel. “Full vamp iguana!” the salesman told me. I had no idea what he was talking about until I went to buy my next pair, a few years later. Living in Bay City, TX, at the time, I received all kinds of advice on the boots, from everyone who knew me. My favorite was that I needed to set weights on them at night, to keep those toes from “curlin’ skywards,” as Justins had the reputation of doing, apparently. The best part of that piece of advice was the way she used her hands and eyes when she said it; in fact, she gestured twice before she actually put words to it. It was clear that I was missing the point, interpreting her gestures as any young man would, coming from a lady as pretty as she. Finally, with a sigh of frustration, she had to explain it to me, like she would have needed to for a child. Anyhow, I wore those boots down several times, resorting, towards the end, to stuffing cardboard into the soles to keep from wearing my socks out, and I was proud of the way I wore the heels down into a sort of triangle, cantering out. Thought it looked pretty good to kind-a tip my ankles outward, standing on those sawdust-covered wooden floors, as I played pool or pinball. When the holes became too big to hold the cardboard in any longer, I taped them, but, that was definitely the beginning of the end. After I wore the duct tape down a few times, I broke down and got my next pair; Tony Lama, “peanut brittle” J toes and a 1 and 5/8 Lucchese heel. The last time I saw my Justins, I found them in the back of my closet, dusty, kind-of gummy from the worn-out duct tape, and stinky as hell. Couldn’t really fathom why I had liked them so much. What I forgot to take into account, as I held those tattered old boots in my hands was all the imagination and dreamin’ that went into the wearing of them, and all the romanticizing I was doing around the circumstances of my life, at the time. The boots played an integral part of all of that.

Hi, thought I’d post after finding this site on a search. I got into cowboy boots in an unusual way; when I was about 12 my mum decided she wanted to smarten me up. I moaned, but one day she got a package from the States. In it were a pair of plain black Jama ropers, a pair of blue Levis (you can’t get kids’ size Levis in Britain) and a black western belt. There were a few issues to start with – Mum was constantly polishing the scuffs out of my boots and yelling at me to tuck my shirt in, and I felt a bit awkward to start with since I was probably the only teenage boy in my town who wore the obviously-cowboy belts and boots, but that soon passed. I enjoyed being a bit different. I’m 22 now and still enjoy the western style, and looking at photos of me as a teenager I must admit I did look kinda cute, especially when I switched to western style boots. .which brings me onto my favourite pair of cowboy boots. At first I was limited to low-heeled, round-toed Ropers as mum worried that western-style boots would damage my growing feet. But I got my first pair of western ones for my 15th birthday. They were a brilliant pair of Justin Juniors (US size 7, my last pair of boys’ boots before I grew into the mens sizes), plain dark brown and well polished. They had the tall cowboy heel and seriously pointed toe with the cool cowboy pattern stitched onto the toe, and they had a leather sole and heel with a steel shank. I got a matching brown belt too. I’ve since realised that they were a rare thing, a kids’ boot with all the features of an adult boot. They remain the most comfortable boots I’ve owned, and I particularly loved the high heel – being small for my age, an extra 2 inches was great! I wore those boots until I was 17/18 and they were actually painfully tight, and sadly had to stop. But I remember them well, they looked great with pale blue jeans, and clicked loudly as I walked along because Mum had had a steel heel and toetips fitted to the soles to stop the leather wearing out. Kicking the heel against the concrete produced some great sparks!

“When I was in my early 20′s, (somewhere in the “”70′s”"), I purchase a pair of cowhide boots made in Brazil. They were made by a couple of brothers who specialized in a sharp undercut, stacked heel, sloping sole and smooth as silk toe and top, in a very soft blond color. No inlay, no special markings, but fit like they were formed on to my feet.”

“My fav’s are a pair of RJ Foley’s i bought on ebay for $5.00. the picture was horrible that’s probably why nobody else bid on them, i took the chance and said what the heck on $5.00! they are beautiful two tone brown with exceptional unique overlay designs are in mint condition and fit me like a glove. i think i got the deal of a lifetime on these boots but can’t seem to find any info on RJ Foley. are these custom do you think? can you still buy RJ Foley’s and where? would LOVE, love, love another pair! Hi people! Back in the late 80′s I bought a pair of great, dark green lizard skin boots that I just loved. Nobody makes this color anymore, and I would love to find a vintage pair now. Trouble is that I don’t recall the make. Anybody remember this color from backin the day? Is Dan Post a good guess?

Hello, Bootlovers. I have a general question to all of you. I own a pair of lizard boots (Tony Mora) and have bought elephant boots from Lucchese on eBay. I love boots, but here in Switzerland, everyone is super politically correct and wearing a dead elephant isn’t exactly the most popular thing to do. Do you guys know more about the way this skin was collected? How bad do I have to feel about this? In the internet, I can’t find facts about Lucchese poaching madly or something. I would be very grateful for a few mails from you.

This is one of the best sites for cowboy boots. I am learning a lot. I used to have a pair of Fryes that I bought in Philadelphia in the late fall of 1976. They lasted me a long time. But I got on a cleaning jag and sent them off to Good Will, they were starting to deteriorate on the inside. I am in the process of getting replacement boots. “HAVE: 1. old black cowhide Justins; my second pair, resoled & reheeled. 2. newer Justins, inferior “”pebbly”" cowhide, stiff and uncomfortable and bound for EBAY. 3. green/black snake Dan Posts – uncomfortable, shank too high and stiff. 4. ivory Noconas in cape buffalo & deer – such an deal ’cause they were mis-sized as M10A, more likely W10C or M8D; fast becoming my “”go to”" pair. 5. “”dress up”" snip-toe Lucchese Charlie 1 Horse in butter soft turquoise, maroon, white cut-out stars. 6. red and ivory full quill ostrich Corrals. 7. classic, new Frye biker boots — would be perfect if they were lined instead of rough inside. 8. vintage Tony Lama wing tips. 9. vintage unknown maker x-toe. 10. Lucchese C1H snip-toe teal slides. WANT: Olathe tall with pull holes; tall Austin Hall Champs; anything from Champion, Stallion, or Mahan; anything in tall or extra tall stove-pipe or Argentinian polo style. Love lots of stitching, flamework, and cutouts, but my “”perfect”" pair would be tall, smooth black, with no stitching, no bug, low walking heel, and pointy, pointy, pointy (XXX?) toes. I’m delighted to find this site! The best pair? The pair that’s hiding in some dusty corner, garage/estate sale, EBAY auction, horse barn, cowboy’s truck, . waiting to be loved. Bought my first pair of basic black Justins after I was assigned to my first military duty station in the late 1970s. We were not allowed to keep civilian clothes on the ship, so I rented a locker at the WMCA. I looked forward to wearing those great boots on every liberty. Today I have Justins for practicality,Rocket Busters for the art, and of course living in Omaha, I have Dehners for riding. Always looking for the perfect pair. Aug 31, 2005
Webmaster comments:
“Often you find a “”code”" inside factory made cowboy boots. It’s a sort of inventory or style tracking number…the string of numbers usually denotes the type and color of the leathers used, toe style, and the size (or instead the model number of the bootmaking last used.) Each boot company uses a different numbering scheme. The only way to “”decode”" the number is to contact the boot company or to find a retailer who may have old stock catalogs. The number is not a “”serial number;”" boots by a maker will have many of the numbers in common. The only way to judge the age of a boot is when colors or leathers were introduced or styles were discontinued. You’re better off guessing the age (decade) using style characteristics.”

Hi Bill Brennan,
My favorite boots are also Stewart boots. I bought my first pair when I was living in Santa Monica, CA, in 1972, from a tack shop. They were horsehide, a wonderful tan color and made me feel about a foot taller. I bought another pair in Scottsdale, AZ, about six years ago, in a shop that no longer carried boots — they’d been there quite a while. They were black — not my favorite color until after I bought them — and buffalo, now my favorite leather.
I called Stewart back then (1999) about them (paid $250) and the man there said he’d gladly buy them back for $250 since the boots I had would easily sell for $500.
Sad to say, Stewart is now gone. I guess they couldn’t hang on in the mass-market world making finely crafted, hand-made boots.

I bought my stewart boots in 1977 in Orlando Fla..The boots were my one and only purchase since I lived in Ma. and did not hardly wear them because of the weather and cowboy boots in Ma. are not stylish. I moved to Fl. and started wearing my boots which are natural colored with designs on sides and small design on pointed toes. I all ways considered my boots not only comfortable ,but also very handsome boots you could wear any where. I just moved here to Plano, Texas and have the opportunity to wear my boots everyday. But, I can not because I do not want to ruin them. I was in a boot store today and I asked to see some stewart boots and the man said they did not have that name boot. I told him to look at the boots I had on and to feel how soft the leather was and the beautiful style of the boot. This man said my stewart boots were really impressive and he noticed me when I came into the store.I know that these boots will not last forever, but I know as long as I wear these stewart boots, I will be wearing the best boot wearever I go.

Our first grandchild (a boy) will be born in early June/05. Since our son and daughter (in-law) live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, they hope to attend the Calgary Stampede with new baby. He, of course will need a cowboy hat and boots! It’s only fitting that Grampy and Grammy are trying to find the cutest little outfit.
If you can let me know where, if possible, we can find cowboy boots to fit a two-month old, I would greatly appreciate it.

“Hi,Anybody know a bootmaker who could restore a pair of Leddy of Abilene alligator boots for me? I bought them on ebay as having “” minor repairs to the alligator”" but with walking flexing the repairs did’nt stand up and the vamps are shot across the toe bug line and I believe they will need revamping. This is a shame as the rest of these early 70′s shorties are mint.”
I realise the cost of the ‘gator alone
is going to make this an expensive business.Anyone got any suggestions?

My first were ACME’s. Bought from Sack’s Army Store, Hattiesburg, MS. Roughout with stitching. In 1962 they were over $20. I paid $4 down and I stopped by every week on my paper route and paid him $2 until they were paid and I could wear ‘em out of there. I’ve got over 50 pair now (that I wear) including Paul Bond, T.O. Stanley, Austin-Hall, Lucchese Classics, and some decent Mexican’s. I also have plenty of OLDER Lama’s, Justins, and Naconas (IF THEY WERE MADE back when they used lemonwood pegs). I appreciate the newer boots produced by these makers as COWBOY SKEET.

My favorite pair of handmade boots was a gift to me by the legendary, world-renown Jack Reed. The ingredients for this 372 step work of art are camel, calf, fishing line, horse hair, lemonwood pegs from Germany, metal tacks, and Jack’s sweat from his hands and brow. Topped to perfection with my initials in gold in what he called his King Ranch style stitching all the way around. Thank you Jack for teaching me what true craftsmanship looks like. He created a standard that all other boots will be compared to. Jack Reed is truly one in a million but has cloned himself in other ways as well. Such as Michael Anthony Carnacchi, Richard Cook, and Stephanie Ferguson. They are the future of boot makers the preservers of legends.

I own 2 pairs of boots made by legendary boot maker Jack Reed. Unfortunately, he retired a couple of years ago. Jack was a perfectionist and each pair of boots he made was a work of art. Luckily for us, he took the time to teach many young people the art of boot making. While visiting with Jack this weekend, I was fortunate enough to meet one of his former students by the name of Michael Anthony. Although I may never be able to afford a pair of his boots, he takes the time and performs each step as Jack taught him. Michael took the skills that Jack taught him and expanded them to make shoes and an incredible crocodile jacket. Jack Reed is one of the best boot makers there has ever been and we are lucky that he has taken the time to teach others his craft.

After a lot of shopping around I ordered my first pair of EXCELLENT custom made boots made by RAY DORWART from Guthrie, OK. From day one they fitted as if they had been worn for a lifetime.
These boots are a mix of styles. sandhill style vamp, 14 inch tops, horse leather all throughout. inlaid initals, single row – fleur de lis pattern, circle bottom – many other details. I gave Ray the basic idea of what I wanted and then we let his imagination run free. The end product a truly fine, not flashy, but spectaular boots. On eparticular detail is that all parts of the boot areskived to mate before stitching is done. Ray uses fine double stitching and all parts of teh boot fit perfectly. They blend in such fashion that, except for the stiching, you will not notice where on part ends and the other one begings. You run the fingers and there is no overlap felt to the touch. Dorwart is very peculiar about this detail.
Easy on, easy off. I frequently wear them through airport security and they are on – off as easy easy as a pair of shoes (once you know how to take htem off without the aid of a boot jack).
Took the boots to Ray for a 1,000 mile check. He did not like the way I wore the heels, so he reworked the heels and replaced the heel caps with a different ones to fit my stride. (Now they are really comfortable.)
The fit is perfect… the wear pattern is right down the middle. Side wear is even, and with a little care the boots should last a lifetime.
Happy.. YES… so much that I ordered another pair from Dorwart, still on the sandhill style, but with some wild imagination again.
I was pleased with the final product because I saw the boots evolve from a pice of horse hide, through almost the entire process of boot-making, and until I practically walked away from Ray’s shop with the boots on.
If you go to Oklahoma, visit Ray Dorwart, in Guthrie (25 miles north of Okalhoma City on I-35). It is not a fancy shop, but rather rustic. Ray takes a lot of time and pride on his boots – they are entirely HANDMADE, spare a few stiches and some polishing. You will not regret wearing a pair of Dorwart custom made boots.

“Always wanted a pair of cowboy boots when I was growing up but either they wouldn`t fit into high school or just didn`t have the money. Now that I am “”older”" I have the chance to buy and wear them. Looked into E-bay and found one pair that grew into two that has now grown into ..I think six pairs(anyone wear 9-9.5?). Funny thing is I have realized that my favorite pair are my Tony Lama black lizard boots; Stylish but not outlandish, comfortable and they seem to go with everything from suits to jeans. I also have a pair of Nocona lizard boots but the pointy “”roach killer”" toe really sticks out. The only problem now is cleaning, polishing them. I have heard I need Properts reptile cream but have not been able to locate any SO any help from someone in or nearby would be appreciated”

“I’m a beginner vintage boot collector living in Europe. I deal mainly with Evan Voyles in Austin,TX and on ebay. I recently received my first pair of custom made boots by Pablo Jass, Ray Jones’ former shop foreman. What beauties !! Heavy as concrete but perfect fit and beautiful leather and stitching. I’ve just ordered my second pair which will be a refooting on a vintage pair of Ray Jones’(originally these were a first price win for a rodeo cowboy in the early seventies). This winter I am planning to visit Mr. Jass at his shop in Lampasas,TX and thank him in person for his craft. Many congratulations for this wonderful site at “”dimlights”".”

Hello Jennifer June, thank you for such a great boot lover forum! My favorite pair of boots this week are a pair of older custom ordered Olathe boots.
This pair were ordered with a navy french calf foot, burgundy french calf tops, navy french calf scallops around the tops, forrest green calf mule ears and heel protectors. This pair is accented with bright blue stitching around the pull holes and burgandy stitching on the toe flower. They come with a riding heel, a french toe, and my initials inlaid on each boot.
These have carried me through many a airport across the USA.
Thanks again Jennifer!

The collection’s grown since 6/2001. The Justin Lacers, the black Tony Lama Ol’ Bucks, the brown Tony Lama Rustlers with the 17-inch tops, and in March a pair of Olathes, chocolate horse & turquoise, that my S.O. think looks whory. Oh well. My favorite? The black Ol’ Buck pair. Why? Because I was wearing them in New York on September 11, 2001, when all Hell descended. I walked out of New York in those lucky boots. I’ve kinda promised to wear them every 9/11 to remind me of how fortunate I am to be alive.

Howdy there!
“My favorite pair of boots? Now that’s an interesting question! Off the top of my head, I’d have to say that it would be my Navy Blue Lizard boots that I keep in a special hardshell boot carrier. They match one of my guitars. Or maybe it’s my well worn Larry Mahan’s that I wear when I go up flying, or the tooled boots that I don’t yet own.
Of course, everyone knows that my favorite pair will always be “”the next pair.”" Cheers! — Ken”

Howdy,
My husband and I visit the U.S. almost every year and I always return whith at last one pair of cowboy boots. Of course I wear them regularly. I now have 26 pairs and for living in Sweden I beleive that is great. One of our nationwide daily papers made an interview with picture last year. I would love to get in contact whith other bootfreaks in Scandinavia.

“I’ve had my Tony Lama’s for i have no idea how long, but holy hell i will be so disapointed when they get too stuffed to wear. I’ve had em re-soled 4 times, and i love em, and wear em, to death. They’re sentimental, i have no idea how many beds they’ve been under! They’re always there when i need em. By the way, the site kicks (or should i say “”boots”") arse.
Keep it up!”

I have a buyer in Texas who buys used boots wholesale for his partner to sell on the Japanese markets. I had a wholesale supplier were I was getting the used boots in lots of about 500 boots or more at a time and was drop shipping them for me. I was paying him appx $6 per pair for the boots. He started shorting the customer and then tried to go around me to get the customer to buy directly from him. These customers are very ethical and will not work with someone like that.. not even if it is only the drop shipper doing it. They have asked me to find a new supplier and they will continue to buy. They call sell in excess of 10,000 pr in a year and need a large stock in place by August so…….. I am searching for a reliable honest supplier of used boots.
Payment will be by wire transfer.
Best regards,
George

Fantastic site! The poetry is a great feature. I don’t have a favorite pair of cowboy boots for one simple reason: I love each and every pair I own or have ever owned. To put on a pair of cowboy boots is putting ones feet into heaven!

Thanks for your visit. Everybody’s got their own reasons for liking boots…none better or worse than anybody else’s. (P.S. My apologies, but I’m unable to include your URL in my guestbook. I do not allow any direct links from my site to those containing adult-only content. Thank you for your understanding.)

My favorite pair is my last pair I made for myself. Black softy Buffalo vamps with Ostrich counters. I cut my initial in the right outside vamp just below the bottom of my jeans.
I have my maternal grandfathers 2 brands, his grandfather’s brand and my paternal grandfather brand on the lower part of the upper. They have a French toe with a double scallop and double bead.
When I get these wore real well I will hang them up with other ranching memorabilia from my family.

I own 5 good pair of custom boots
rios of mercedes alligator tail boot size 12a, hand pick the leather him self 70′s or 80′s, while he was in the boot business
lucchese ostrich leg boots 12A
lucchese top and bottom shark boots 12A
lucchese brown snakeskin boots 12A
Tony Lama all white boots 12A
all these boots are hand made with wood lasts
Here is some insider information regarding Lucchese boots
all information is first hand given to me by my friend who was good friends with sam lucchese before he died in 1980
during sam’s ( i should say this is sam jr ) life he married a woman ( name i cant recall ) she had a previous son from another marriage, named trainer (spelling is unsure ) during the mid 60′s sam jr gave the company over to trainer along with a fair sized ranch in up state texas ( at the time was divorced from trainer mother )with the condition to pay him an unknown amount per yr for payment and retirement. around this time sam jr was having health problems and in 1969 trainer and sam where in talks with blue bell ( for those who dont know this is wangler as we know them today ) then in 1970 trainer sold the company to blue bell and was kept on to run the company, sam jr was also working with them at that time while he was in and out of the hospital then in around 1977 sam left and went to work at tony lamas outfit after some time i would say somewhere in 1979 he ended up in the hospital for the duration of his life as he did die in 1980 during his last few months my friend spoke with sam 2 times a week via phone till he passed for an hour each time
this is all i can remember from his conversation with me
if any one can show proof that i am wrong please let me know as i have search the net and have found nothing with any information regarding Trainer
Though I would believe my friend more than the internet as this is straight from his mouth
thanks
I am in Australia so I wanted to be sure my first pair of Western Boots fit well (having never bought US sizes).
I ordered a pair of Lucchese 2000 Old Roma Black Cherry in size 10D and they fit perfectly.
Then I felt confident to order a pair of Lucchese Classic L1314 stingrays. They arrived and fit very well too.
However, the vamp doesn’t have the unique stingray backbone pattern I expected.
Sigh.
Has anyone else had this experience or know why this might be the case?
W.
