Yes. These are the boots worn by Ariel (Julianne Hough) in the new Footloose movie. The cowgirl boots are made by Frye. They will sell out quick… maybe even before the movie comes out. After that, you will find many other swell red boots, but not these. Already sold out in your size? Dying to have them? Check for red Frye boots on ebay.  There are a ton of Old Gringo boots out there.
I think their design work is hit and miss. Old Gringo at its best is timely and hip…keeping up better with fashion and colors than everybody in the boot biz. Other times, their off kilter styles kinda wobble, and it seems like some of their designs just doesn’t sit quite right on a cowboy boot. (…and I can’t say I’ve forgiven them for their sexy COWgirl boot years ago.)
BUT, I do like to give credit when credit is due… the new Erin cowboy boot is brilliant. Old Gringo uses its heavy monochrome stitching like tooling across the boot’s vamp and the collar with florals and scrolls. Box toe.
A “shelf” boot which evokes handcraft, without resorting to bad embossing or hurried handmade copies.  Well done.
Every time a new movie comes out, I get asked about who’s-wearing-which boots. So here you go… if you want boots just like Rango wears, go get yourself a pair of Old Gringo Nevada cowboy boots (I dare you to tell me I’m wrong.)
And… if you like Westerns, you should go see Rango. Does the team proud. Yes, it does. (P.S. Right now, endless.com has some great women’s cowboy boots on sale.) What do you get when you cross a cowboy boot with a skate board? Tin Haul is aim at the teen rodeo market, graffiti colors… unruly. Designed by grown-ups who obviously wanted to do something that’s never been done before… and in their excitement lost all sense and designed something that shouldn’t be done ever — place a portrait of a woman on the sole of a cowboy boot. Rude. Why don’t we have an “obvious sole” with a eye-catching American flag? or a maybe cross? Hey! Maybe do a print-on-demand set up with the teen’s actual grandmother, mother or English teacher? - I’m just gonna come out and say it… this is what Lucchese boots should cost. - This pair of boots reminds me of a lucky penny you’d find on the street, and that makes me happy. - Best buy. Every guy should own a pair of black cowboy boots. Wear ‘em, thrash ‘em …don’t get attached. Leave them behind somewhere, on the way to someplace else.
In the 1980′s these were a popular style of dress boot. A couple of attributes make them fancy. One, when you take away the fender stitching and the heel counter — the vertical styling of these make a girl’s legs look longer, not unlike a pair of uncuffed pants. Two, these boots work well with exotic and extravagant materials. Since the vamp doesn’t wrap around the sides of the cowboy boot, you can showcase a lizard, snake or stingray skin without extra seams or patchwork piecing. Today’s triad styles feature hand tooled leather and buck stitching. A new shorthand for luxury. Heritage Boot does a great job of filling their boot tops with stitchwork and balancing the weights of the contrasting leathers (see photo.) I like that. I love the texture of these “Petate” boots. If my size 5 feet were one size bigger, I think I’d wear them all the time. They’re kinda cool and breezy like a wicker chair, but wait… you could add layer upon layer in this fall, turning these boots into best pals for your favorite tweedy jacket. Yep.
