Have ya heard? "The prairie looks that swamped the spring 2002 catwalks signaled the revival of another American tradition -- the cowboy boot." (...says a online fashion article, featuring Wendy Lane from "Back at the Ranch".)

Wanna know how to say "boot" in sign language?

BOOT

The sign "SHOE" is followed by the hand touching the elbow joint to show the length of the boot.
(...you form the letter "S" on each hand and click them together like the heels of a shoe.)

Go visit an American Sign Language online dictionary . Can you figure out what "bootmaker" might be?
...what about "cowboy"?

I found a cool website about westerns. (I'm gona try and copy their top 30 list into my palm pilot.) Also, I've started an essay about the iconography of the cowboy boot, the essay by Gary Johnson is kinda helpful.
